January 23rd, 2023- Weekly School Bulletin We will be continuing with Academic Recovery this week.  Class is from 7:45am-8:15am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Academic Recovery will also be after school every day this week from 1-3pm in order to prepare students for finals on Thursday and Friday. If your child has any incompletes in their classes they should be attending ARA in order to complete missed classwork/assignments. If you know your child should be attending ARA, please make sure you are sending them in the morning from Tuesday through Thursday and in the afternoon this week from 1-3pm. As a reminder, Senior Dues are due on January 31st.  The dues are $85 in total which include your students cap and gown, senior t-shirt, and yearbook. You can make a payment using cash, check, or card.  Please turn dues into Ms. Allen on the 4th floor of HSHMC. Please make checks out to HSHMC. Welcome to finals week!  Friday will be the last day of the first semester. Finals will be Thursday and Friday, the 26th and 27th.  Students will be released early at 12:30pm every day this week, so please ensure you child has transportation from school. Attendance matters! Please ensure that your child arrives to school on time every day, so that they are not missing important learning and falling behind in their classes. Please remember to call us if you know that your child will be absent from school.  This way we can excuse their absence for the day they will be missing school.

We also have a New Student Orientation meeting via Zoom this week on Thursday, January 12th at 4:30pm. If you or anyone you know is interested in enrolling their child at HSHMC please join us for our informational meeting! Zoom information for this meeting can be found on our HSHMC website. This Tuesday, January 10th, our 10th graders will be off campus to attend a field study at Balboa Park to extend their learning outside of the classroom. The students will leave HSHMC at 9:00am and arrive back to school at 1:00pm. We will provide students bagged lunches or your students can bring money to purchase snacks at the park or bring their own lunch. The Community Engagement Club will be collecting donations all this week of non-perishable food items, clothes, and hygienic supplies. We appreciate any and all donations to help support our community. Our open enrollment has started for the 2023-2024 school year. If you or someone you know is interested in enrolling their child at HSHMC next year, please refer to our website to fill out an application. Attendance matters! October 3rd, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin This week at HSHMC we will be having a short day on Friday, October 7th.  School will be dismissed at 12:30pm.  This does not affect students who have their hospital internships on Friday.  They will still be at the hospital for the entire school day and will be getting out of school at 3:00pm. There will also be an Admissions Counselor representative from San Diego State University coming to campus on Friday, October 7th. They will be here from 1-2pm in room 303 for students to learn more about the admissions process to SDSU. We also have a few sporting events coming up this week: Varsity Girls Volleyball - Thursday, October 6th at King Chavez at 4:30 pm JV Girls Volleyball - Tuesday, October 4th at High Tech High North County at 3:15 pm Cross country - Thursday, October 6th at 3:30 at NTC Park Flag Football - October 8 at Bayfront Charter at 11 am vs Monarch School

September 19, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin If you are interested in joining parent committee, there will be an online meeting through Zoom on Tuesday, September 20 th , at 5:30pm. You can find the link to the Zoom on our website in the "News and Updates" section. We are excited to welcome students back to the hospital, as we will be starting internships this week on Monday, September 19 th ! College classes will also be officially staring on Monday, September 19 th . Please be mindful that our first round of competencies are next week, which will generate grades in PowerSchool. Please check your parent portal for these grades. If you have any questions about PowerSchool please feel free to contact the school.
