Weekly Bulletin – June 5, 2022
June 5, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin It’s Spirit Week again this week at HSHMC: Monday: Beach Day: Wear your beach or floral attire. Tuesday: Disney Day: Wear your Disney gear or dress as your favorite Disney character. Wednesday: Sports Day: Wear your favorite jersey or sports gear. Thursday: Dress Fancy Day: Wear your favorite fancy attire. Friday: HSHMC Spirit Day: Wear your HSHMC attire or our school colors. Sharp HealthCare will be here tomorrow for one last clinic for HSHMC students and their family members still needing their Covid Boosters. All HSHMC students must be fully vaccinated to attend summer school and to return in the fall. If you or your child is booster eligible, you can still sign up now using this link. Thursday, June 9, is high school graduation rehearsal. All senior graduates should meet at HSHMC promptly at 9:00 am. We will travel by bus together to rehearsal. Immediately following rehearsal, seniors will return to HSHMC to enjoy lunch together. Cap and gowns will be handed out during the luncheon. Seniors must also turn in their school computers and chargers during this time as well. Senior Graduation is on Monday, June 13 at 6:00 pm at the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU. No tickets are needed. Paid parking on campus is required. We encourage carpooling, or using public transportation. Both the bus and trolley drop off right at SDSU. All students graduating must arrive by 5:00 pm. A location map is included here. The last day of school is Tuesday, June 14. , Finals are on Monday, June 13 and Tuesday, June 14. Students have early dismissal on both days at 12:35 pm. Summer school begins on Tuesday, June 21. We are offering a variety of enrichment courses and look forward to students joining us for our summer program. There will also be mandatory academic recovery for students ending the year with incompletes. Students who end the year with incompletes are at risk of not successfully completing 2021-2022 coursework. Students who do not complete required coursework are unable to promote to the next grade level and would be required to reapply for their current grade level. Please check your child’s grades in PowerSchool now to be sure they do not have any incompletes. Notices will be sent out this week to students who are required to attend summer school for academic recovery. May 31, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin Grad Night is this Friday, June 3 at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Seniors will leave from HSHMC at 8:00 pm and return to school on Saturday morning June 4 by 7:30 am. Tickets are on sale through Wednesday for $100 per person. This event is for our seniors only (no guests are allowed). All those attending must be fully vaccinated. Next Thursday, June 9, is graduation rehearsal. May 23, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin Sharp HealthCare has graciously agreed to provide one last clinic for HSHMC students and their family members still needing their Covid Boosters. This clinic will be held at HSHMC on Monday, June 6. If your child is booster eligible, please sign them up now using this link. All HSHMC students must be fully vaccinated to attend summer school and to return in the fall. Again this week, all 11th graders, both in person and online, will be taking California’s Smarter Balanced Summative Assessment tests (SBAC) on both Wednesday and Thursday this week. Please be sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and a nutritious breakfast before testing. May 16, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin All 11th graders, both in person and online, will be taking California’s Smarter Balanced Summative Assessment tests (SBAC) on both Wednesday and Thursday this week. Please be sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and a nutritious breakfast before testing. More information for parents on California’s Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is available using this link. Senior Prom is this Friday, May 20th on the Hornblower Boat from 5:00-10:00 pm. All students and guests attending must be fully vaccinated. The last day to purchase tickets is this Tuesday. Please note that HSHMC does not control when the boat leaves the dock so please be sure your child arrives promptly as to not miss the event. May 9, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin To continue to inform and involve families in our efforts to design the most exciting, engaging and effective education for our student body, we invite you parents and guardians to take our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) survey. The survey and more information about the LCAP can been found on our website at www.hshmc.org under the “About” tab or by clicking here. Your opinion matters. Please take a few minutes to visit our site and take the survey. (Or click here to go directly to the survey available in English and Spanish.) If you have not already registered your returning HSHMC student for next year using the link sent to your email, please do so immediately so that we have updated information and confirmation that your child will be returning to HSHMC next year.
