Weekly Bulletin – May 9, 2022

May 9, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin To continue to inform and involve families in our efforts to design the most exciting, engaging and effective education for our student body, we invite you parents and guardians to take our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) survey. The survey and more information about the LCAP can been found on our website at www.hshmc.org under the “About” tab or by clicking here.  Your opinion matters. Please take a few minutes to visit our site and take the survey. (Or click here to go directly to the survey available in English and Spanish.) If you have not already registered your returning HSHMC student for next year using the link sent to your email, please do so immediately so that we have updated information and confirmation that your child will be returning to HSHMC next year. If you need the email with the registration link to be resent to you, please contact us and we will resend it. Senior Prom is coming up on Friday, May 20 on the Hornblower Boat from 5:00-10:00 pm. Tickets are on sale for $100 per person. All students and guests attending must be fully vaccinated. If your senior is planning to attend and has not yet purchased their ticket, please have them do so this week. Weekly Bulletin – May 2, 2022

May 2, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin This Wednesday, ASB will be fundraising for events by selling carne asada fries during lunch for $12.  In addition, ASB is now selling HSHMC merchandise. A QR code to pre-order merchandise is posted around school. You can also check out the pre-order form here if you are interested in ordering some very cool HSHMC gear! HSHMC is hosting two student employment events this week for HSHMC students 16+. Today, at 3:00 pm the City of San Diego will be presenting an opportunity for a paid “Emerging Filmmaker Fellowship” and Thursday at 3:00 pm, SeaWorld will be presenting employment opportunities. Both events will be in our lecture hall. Senior dues was due last week. If you have a HSHMC senior and have not already paid, please contact Ms. Allen at eallen@hshmc.org to make payment arrangements. Senior cap and gown pictures are scheduled for Friday, May 6 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Students who want to take their photo must pre-pay using the form on our website. Cap & Gown Photos May 6th, 2022

Cap & Gown portraits will be taken on Friday May 6th 2022 from 9AM-12PM (there will be no makeup dates). Click here for the order form to be filled out and returned to the front desk prior to photo day, or to be submitted the day of. Wallet size, 8x10, and one package will be offered as well as the option to download your image for your own use. Cash, Venmo, and Credit Card accepted. We are so appreciative to Sharp HealthCare for all of the booster clinics they held here for our HSHMC students and families. Currently, they are not scheduling any more clinics on campus. If your child is booster eligible per our vaccination policy, please be sure to schedule an appointment for them on your own. You can use this link to find a clinic closest to you. As a reminder, if your child is booster eligible, they must receive their booster in order to attend summer school or return to HSHMC next year. Weekly Bulletin – April 18, 2022

April 18, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin Sharp Healthcare will be here today Monday, April 18 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to provide Covid vaccinations/boosters to our staff, students, and family members. Second boosters are also being offered for family members ages 50+ now. Please use this special LINK to sign up now. It’s not too late! Important information about our distance learning program was mailed home last week along with quarter 3 progress reports. The same information can be found here. Weekly Bulletin – April 11, 2022

April 11, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin Quarter 3 progress grades will be mailed out this week. If your child currently has an incomplete from Quarter 3, they have now been assigned to an Academic Recovery and Advancement (ARA) class on Fridays from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Attendance is mandatory at this class until all incompletes are cleared. There is a virtual Parent Advisory Group meeting this Wednesday, April 13 at 5:30 pm. We hope you will plan to join in with a great group of parents as we engage in important conversations about our school community. If you would like to attend, please join us using the Zoom link here or on our website (passcode = Parents). If your child did not get their Covid-booster yet and they are eligible, you can sign them up now for our next vaccination/booster clinic with Sharp HealthCare which will be held on campus next Monday, April 18 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This clinic is only open for our staff, students, and family members. Second boosters are also being offered for family members ages 50+ now eligible to receive a second booster. Please use this special LINK to sign up now. If you need any help making the appointment, please call the school and we will gladly help you. If you have not already responded to registration link sent to families of our current students returning to HSHMC next year, please do so now. Please check your email for the link and be sure to fill out the registration information so we have updated information and confirmation that your child will be returning to HSHMC next year.
