Coaching Profile

I have lived in San Diego my entire life and I love serving the new generation of student-athletes. I did Track and Cross Country all 4 years of high school and loved every second of it. I have been around these sports my entire life and it is one of my passions to share my knowledge of the sports with my athletes. I coached at my alma mater, El Capitan High School, for 2 years before I started teaching here at Health Sciences. I always look forward to raising student-athletes to their fullest potential.

Coaching Profile

I have been an athlete since I was about 7 years old. I started out with Tae Kwon Do and then transitioned into basketball, which I played until I got into high school. Once I got into high school, I was looking for a different sport to participate in and I found track and field. When I first joined my main events were the 100 meter and the 200 meters. One day my coach needed an alternate for the 4x400 relay and decided to pick me so then the 400 meters became one of my main events. By the end of my senior year, I was participating in the: 200 meters, 4x100 relay, 400 meters, and the 4x400 relay. My experience running track led me to want to become a track coach and share the same experiences I had on a track team: building connections, creating a family outside of my home life, and having fun overall. This is my first year coaching track and field but I have coached basketball in the past.
