Weekly Bulletin – February 27, 2022

February 27, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin Make-Up School Picture Day is tomorrow!  If your child is attending in-person and is in 9th-11th grade and they did not have their school picture taken yet, please remind them about tomorrow’s picture day. ASB has another new club that has just started up. We invite your child to join the Meditation and Mindfulness Club on Mondays from 3-3:30 pm and Thursdays from 11:15 – 11:45 am in Room 403. A list of all ASB clubs at HSHMC, can now be found on our website at www.hshmc.org. If your child did not get their Covid-booster yet and they are eligible, you can sign them up now for our next vaccination/booster clinic with Sharp HealthCare which will be held on campus on Monday, March 14 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This clinic is only open for our staff, students, and family members. Appointments are required. Please use this special LINK to sign up now. If you need any help making the appointment, please call the school and we will gladly help you. There is a virtual Parent Advisory Group meeting next week on Thursday, March 10 at 5:00 pm. We invite you to join this wonderful group of parents partnering with us to make HSHMC the best school in the universe. Our Parent Advisory Group helps to plan programs and activities that support our HSHMC students and families. Weekly Bulletin – February 22, 2022

February 22, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin We look forward to seeing all our students tomorrow. We hope you had time to relax and enjoy some family time over the long weekend. This Wednesday, ASB will be outside the school selling Costco Pizza for $2.00 a slice at lunch time to raise funds for ASB activities. We hope your student will join in for some yummy pizza to support our ASB. Speaking of ASB, there is a new LIFE (Learning Important Skills for Everyone) Club on Wednesdays from 11:00 to 11:30 am in Room 105. All students are welcome to join. Make-Up School Picture Day is scheduled for next Monday, February 28. Weekly Bulletin – February 14, 2022

February 14th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin As a reminder, there is no school this Friday, February 18 or Monday, February 21, in honor of Presidents Day. We had a huge turnout at our Covid vaccination clinic last week. If your child did not get their Covid-booster yet and they are eligible, you can sign them up now for our next vaccination/booster clinic with Sharp HealthCare which will be held on campus on Monday, March 14 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This clinic is only open to our staff, students, and family members. Appointments are required. Please use this special LINK to sign up now. If you need any help making the appointment, please call the school and we will gladly help you. If your child is still carrying an incomplete in any course from Semester 1, they have a contract created with their teacher with a specific plan outlined to clear their incomplete. Your child must attend all academic recovery sessions assigned to them in the contract. Students who do not make an effort to clear their incompletes are at risk of failing the course. Students who do not pass their required courses may be at risk of promotion to the next grade level in the fall. Weekly Bulletin – February 7, 2022

February 7th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin Tomorrow, Sharp HealthCare will be on campus from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to provide Covid-19 booster shots for our staff, students, and family members. If your child is booster eligible, and you have not already signed them up for tomorrow, please do so now using use this special LINK. The link is also available directly from our website at www.hshmc.org. As a reminder, students who are booster eligible (2nd vaccine was at least 5-6 months ago) must provide documentation that they have received their booster by March 1 in order to remain on campus at HSHMC. Semester 1 grades were mailed home last week. If your child is holding an incomplete in any course from Semester 1 they now have a contract created with their teacher with a plan outlined to clear their incomplete. They will also be assigned to an Academic Intervention class on Fridays from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Attendance is mandatory at this class until all incompletes are cleared. It is also expected that any student who holds an incomplete in any course is actively taking advantage of teachers' office hours and resources we have put in place to support their academic efforts.  Students who do not make an effort to clear their incompletes are at risk of failing the course. Weekly Bulletin – January 30, 2022

January 30th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin Tomorrow is the start of Semester 2. Your child’s new semester courses are listed on their PowerSchool account. Semester 1 grades will be mailed home towards the end of this week. If your child is holding an incomplete in any course from Semester 1 they now have a contract created with their teacher with a plan outlined to clear their incomplete. They will also be assigned to an Academic Intervention class on Fridays from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Attendance is mandatory at this class until all incompletes are cleared. It is also expected that any student who holds an incomplete in any course is actively taking advantage of teachers' office hours and resources we have put in place to support their academic efforts.  Students who do not make an effort to clear their incompletes are at risk of failing the course. We will have senior picture make-ups for those that missed the other days this Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Photos will be taken upstairs on the 3rd floor in the Tech Department. This will be the last make-up day for seniors. 9th-11th Make-up picture day is being arranged and we will notify you as soon as we have more details. If your child is booster eligible, don’t forget to sign up for our next vaccination/booster clinic with Sharp HealthCare which will be held on campus on Monday, February 7 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Weekly Bulletin – January 24, 2022

January 24th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin This week is the last week of the first semester! Students will be in their regular classes. As a reminder, our schedule has been modified. Students will have minimum days every day this week with early release at 12:30 pm. However, if a student has one or more incompletes, they will be required to stay for Academic Recovery until 3:00 pm each day on Monday through Thursday until all incompletes are cleared. There will not be academic recovery this Friday and all students will be released at 12:30 after finals. There is a New Student Orientation for new families interested in applying to HSHMC this Wednesday at 5:00 pm. If you know other families interested in applying, we appreciate you letting them know they can join in using the link available on our website. By now you should have received a letter in the mail from our leadership team with information about our updated Covid-19 policies. (The letter, along with updated policies are attached in the email version of this message and also available on our website.) On January 13, 2022, our Board of Directors extended vaccination requirements to include booster shots for all eligible students and staff to remain part of the HSHMC community. HSHMC students eligible for COVID-19 booster shots must receive those shots and provide documentation of the Booster Shot. Students will be given a grace period of 30 days from when their eligibility begins to allow time to schedule appointments. If your child has already received their booster, please provide documentation to the school. Currently eligible students will need to provide documentation on or before March 1, 2022. To support this, our next vaccination/booster clinic with Sharp HealthCare will be held on campus on Monday, February 7 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This clinic is only open for our staff, students, and family members. Appointments are required. If you or your child are booster eligible, please use this special LINK to sign up now!
