November 7th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin We will be continuing with Academic Recovery this week. Class is from 7:45am-8:15am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If your child has any incompletes in their classes they should be attending ARA in order to complete missed classwork/assignments. If you know your child should be attending ARA, please make sure you are sending them in the morning from Tuesday through Thursday. We officially started Quarter 2 last week! Quarter Grades were also mailed out last week, so please ensure that you are looking out for those in the mail this week. Daylight Savings time ends on Sunday, November 6 th , giving you an extra hour of sleep! Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour and make sure that your child arrives at school on time. There will be no school on Friday, November 11 th , in observance of Veteran’s Day. Thank you to those of our families who serve or have served in the U.S. armed forces. Our open enrollment has started for the 2023-2024 school year. If you or someone you know is interested in enrolling their child at HSHMC next year, please refer to our website to fill out an application. Attendance matters! October 31st, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin We will be continuing with Academic Recovery this week. Class is from 7:45am-8:15am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If your child has any incompletes in their classes they should be attending ARA in order to complete missed classwork/assignments. Happy Halloween! Halloween is on Monday, October 31 st . Students are allowed to wear costumes, however, masks and accessories/props that resemble weapons are not allowed. Senior Picture Day is this Thursday on November 3 rd ! We ask that your child wears a black top for uniformity and please make sure their top has sleeves, no shoulders showing or tank tops. For boys, please wear a black button-down shirt and tie. This week on Tuesday, November 1 st , we will be having a UCSD representative visit our campus to inform seniors about the UC application process as they begin to apply for colleges. They will be meeting after school at 3:30pm. ASB is holding a costume contest Monday, October 31 st , at lunch in the Cafeteria! Prices will be awarded to the top 3 costumes as voted on by our Costume Judges! Attendance matters! The quarter ends this week on Friday, October 28 th , so we want to make sure that students are doing their best and completing missed classwork/assignments. This week on Thursday, October 27 th , we will be having an SDSU representative visit our campus to inform seniors about the CSU application process as they begin to apply for colleges. They will be meeting after school at 3:30pm. There will also be a Parent Committee meeting on Tuesday, October 25 th , through Zoom from 4:30-5:30pm. You can find the Zoom link for the meeting on our HSHMC website. Attendance matters! The quarter ends in two weeks on October 28 th, so we want to make sure that students are doing their best and completing missed classwork/assignments. Picture Day is coming up this week for grades 9-11 on Tuesday October 18 th . Students will be taking pictures in their history class on that day. In a couple of weeks, we will be having an SDSU representative for Cal State visit our campus on October 27 th at 3:30pm. They will be speaking to our seniors about the application process and other necessary steps to apply for college. We also have some Varsity and JV Volleyball games scheduled for this week: Varsity Girls Volleyball: 10/17 vs El Cajon Valley @ ECV @ 6:30 PM 10/18 vs Cristo Rey @ Cristo Rey @ 4:30 pm 10/20 vs Preuss @ Park De La Cruz @ 4:15 JV Girls Volleyball: 10/17 vs El Cajon Valley @ ECV @ 5:00 PM 10/20 vs High Tech High North Country @ Park de la cruz @ 3:15 pm Flag Football also has a game on Saturday, October 22nd at Bayfront Charter at 9 am vs Cristo Rey.

October 10th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin There will be an ASB fundraiser this Tuesday, October 11th during our lunch time from 11:25am- 12:15pm. Cheese and Pepperoni pizza slices will be sold for $2 a slice and we will be accepting cash or check! We will be continuing with Academic Recovery this week. February 14th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin As a reminder, there is no school this Friday, February 18 or Monday, February 21, in honor of Presidents Day. We had a huge turnout at our Covid vaccination clinic last week. If your child did not get their Covid-booster yet and they are eligible, you can sign them up now for our next vaccination/booster clinic with Sharp HealthCare which will be held on campus on Monday, March 14 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This clinic is only open to our staff, students, and family members. Appointments are required. Please use this special LINK to sign up now. If you need any help making the appointment, please call the school and we will gladly help you. If your child is still carrying an incomplete in any course from Semester 1, they have a contract created with their teacher with a specific plan outlined to clear their incomplete. Your child must attend all academic recovery sessions assigned to them in the contract. Students who do not make an effort to clear their incompletes are at risk of failing the course. Students who do not pass their required courses may be at risk of promotion to the next grade level in the fall. February 7th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin Tomorrow, Sharp HealthCare will be on campus from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to provide Covid-19 booster shots for our staff, students, and family members. If your child is booster eligible, and you have not already signed them up for tomorrow, please do so now using use this special LINK. The link is also available directly from our website at www.hshmc.org. As a reminder, students who are booster eligible (2nd vaccine was at least 5-6 months ago) must provide documentation that they have received their booster by March 1 in order to remain on campus at HSHMC. Semester 1 grades were mailed home last week. If your child is holding an incomplete in any course from Semester 1 they now have a contract created with their teacher with a plan outlined to clear their incomplete. They will also be assigned to an Academic Intervention class on Fridays from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Attendance is mandatory at this class until all incompletes are cleared. It is also expected that any student who holds an incomplete in any course is actively taking advantage of teachers' office hours and resources we have put in place to support their academic efforts.  Students who do not make an effort to clear their incompletes are at risk of failing the course. January 18th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin This week is our last week of college and internship classes for the first semester. Students will be in their regular classes all next week which is the last week of Semester 1. As a reminder, next week's schedule has been modified. Students will have minimum days every day next week with early release at 12:30 pm. However, if a student has one or more incompletes, they will be required to stay for Academic Recovery until 3:00 pm each day on Monday through Thursday until all incompletes are cleared. There will not be academic recovery on Friday 1/28 and all students will be released at 12:30 after finals. Please check your child's grades now to be sure they are not carrying any incompletes for semester 1. You can check grades 24/7 through our PowerSchool Parent portal. If you need help setting up your account or accessing grades, there are directions on our website or you can contact our tech team at hshmctech@hshmc.org for assistance.
