November 13th, 2023- Weekly School Bulletin Hello Families, Thanksgiving break will begin on Monday, November 20th. Students will return back to school on Monday, November 27th. As a reminder, if a student needs to leave early for any reason (doctor’s appointment, sickness, etc.) the protocol is for parents to come to the front office, show ID, and sign their student out to leave. We have started our Winter Sports season! This week we have a few games: Boys Soccer: Friday 11/17 Girls Soccer: Monday 11/13 and Tuesday 11/14 Next Tuesday, November 14 th , will be Picture Re-take day. If your child was absent on our original picture day, please ensure that they come to school on time to get their picture taken! HSHMC will be hosting a food drive this week from 11/13 to 11/17. Please donate canned food and non-perishable items to be collected during 1st period. The class that brings in the most cans will win a pizza party! It is open enrollment time at HSHMC! We are now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year for grades 9-12. This open enrollment period ends February 2, 2024. Siblings of current HSHMC students should submit their applications NOW! If you have friends and family that may be interested, please let them know to apply as well. Congratulations to a successful year for our Volleyball and Cross-Country teams!  Our Cross-Country team will be in CIF Finals this Saturday, November 11th. Look for more information on our website!  We will be hosting tryouts for Boys Basketball, Girls Soccer, and Boys Soccer starting Monday, November 6. Please turn in your athletic packets and complete your physicals! It is extremely important to make sure that your student is attending and participating in the internship pathway.  Please ensure that they arrive on time everyday prepared and ready to learn! October 2nd, 2023- Weekly School Bulletin Hello Families, There will be no school this upcoming Friday, October 6th, for students! On Friday, September 22nd, we had our Senior Sunrise for our graduating Seniors to celebrate the first month of their final year of High School! Our HSHMC Fire Academy will be co-hosting a community event for fire prevention week on October 14th, located here at HSHMC from 10am-1pm. There will be a fire extinguisher demo and training, compressions only CPR, fire apparatus tours, and a student skill showcase. Please join us to support our Fire team and school! Please check our website for important information on how to download the Powerschool app in order to stay up-to-date with your students’ progress at school. With the app you will be able to see your students grades and schedule, as well as get automatic updates when their grades change or if they are tardy/absent. Attendance matters! September 25th, 2023- Weekly School Bulletin Hello Families, This week is our first spirit week! Please see below for the scheduled days: Monday is Pajama day. Tuesday is Generations day. Seniors should dress as senior citizens, Juniors as adults, Sophomores as teenagers, and Freshmen as children. Wednesday is Barbie vs Ken day. Dress up as Barbie, Ken, or Alan. Thursday is Superhero vs Supervillain Day. Friday is class color wars. Seniors wear pink, Juniors wear black, Sophomores wear green, Freshman wear white. On Tuesday, September 26th, during lunch we have a Fall Sports Pep Rally at Kippy's Center. Please join us to show some pride and spirit for all of our Fall sports teams! This Thursday, September 28th, during lunch we will be having a rock-paper-scissors tournament. It is one dollar to enter and the winner will win an ASB Card. ASB Cards are worth $50 and will get you access to all ASB events throughout the year. Students save $10 by purchasing an ASB Card and attending all events. (Senior events and Senior dues are separate from an ASB card). Our first dance of the year is this Friday, September 29th! Spiderman Homecoming will be held at Kippy's Center from 6-9 pm. Students can go to the dance by purchasing an ASB Card or by purchasing an individual ticket for $10. ASB cards and Homecoming tickets will be sold at lunch during this whole week. September 18th, 2023- Weekly School Bulletin Hello Families, Thank you to everyone who came out for our Welcome Back Event at Kippy’s Center last week! We had an amazing time meeting with all of you and getting the opportunity to build more connections with our students’ families. We hope you all enjoyed the night as much as we did! Here is a short video with some highlights from the night: Back to School Video For safety reasons, if your student will be driving to school, they will need to fill out a form with some information in order to have driving privileges on campus. They can retrieve this form from the front office and turn it back in before they will be allowed to drive to school. Our hospital internship program has officially started this week. HSHMC students have the opportunity to experience their health internship once a week and attendance is important. Please make sure that your child attends each week to ensure they don’t miss out on an amazing experience. We have some exciting sports games coming up this week! September 11th, 2023- Weekly School Bulletin Hello Families, We are very excited that this week is our Back to School Celebration at HSHMC on Wednesday, September 13th! All family members are welcome to meet us at our Kippy's Center on top of our parking structure from 5pm-8pm. Come join us for a night of fun to meet with teachers, learn about/join clubs, eat dinner, enjoy games, and listen to live music! This is a chance to meet teachers and staff, as well as mingle with fellow families! September 4th, 2023- Weekly School Bulletin Hello Families, There will be no school this Monday, September 4th. Enjoy your three-day weekend! We will see you back at school on Tuesday, September 5th. Our iReady testing will take place this week September 5th through 8th. This assessment helps teachers to understand what your student already knows, and what they need to work on to reach their goals. Students should bring a charged laptop, charger, and headphones.
