Weekly Bulletin

December 12th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin This will be our last week of school before winter break. The last day before winter break is December 16 th . School will be closed between December 19 th and January 2 nd . Classes resume on January 3, 2023. We will be continuing with Academic Recovery this week. Class is from 7:45am-8:15am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If your child has any incompletes in their classes they should be attending ARA in order to complete missed classwork/assignments. If you know your child should be attending ARA, please make sure you are sending them in the morning from Tuesday through Thursday. The Community Engagement Club will be collecting donations through Wednesday of non- perishable food items, clothes, and hygienic supplies. We appreciate any and all donations to help support our community. We will be having Spirit Week all this week with a fun theme each day. We also have a Winter Sports Pep Rally on the new Sports Deck at lunch on Tuesday.  The theme for each day is as follows: Monday - Pajama Day Tuesday - Anything but a Backpack Wednesday - Twin Day Thursday - Adam Sandler Day Friday - Holiday Spirit and Ugly Sweater If you are interested in joining our school’s Parent Committee, please join us for our next meeting via Zoom on December 13 th at 4:30pm. You can find Zoom information on our HSHMC website. We also have a New Student Orientation meeting via Zoom this week on Thursday, December 15 th at 4:30pm. November 21st, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin There will be no school next week, November 21st through November 25th, in observance of Thanksgiving.  Have a wonderful and restful break!

November 14th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin We will be continuing with Academic Recovery this week. Class is from 7:45am-8:15am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If your child has any incompletes in their classes they should be attending ARA in order to complete missed classwork/assignments. If you know your child should be attending ARA, please make sure you are sending them in the morning from Tuesday through Thursday. This week is the last week before Thanksgiving break. School will be closed from Monday, November 21st through Friday, November, 25 th . Enjoy your holiday break! Senior picture day retakes will be this week on Thursday, November 17 th , during school. If your child was absent or did not take their picture, please make sure they come to school on time this day to get their senior picture taken. If you have any non-perishables to donate, our NHS team are holding a food drive all this week. These items can include canned food, grains, dry goods, dehydrated fruits and vegetables, etc. Our open enrollment has started for the 2023-2024 school year. November 7th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin We will be continuing with Academic Recovery this week. Class is from 7:45am-8:15am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Quarter Grades were also mailed out last week, so please ensure that you are looking out for those in the mail this week. Daylight Savings time ends on Sunday, November 6 th , giving you an extra hour of sleep! Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour and make sure that your child arrives at school on time. There will be no school on Friday, November 11 th , in observance of Veteran’s Day. Thank you to those of our families who serve or have served in the U.S. armed forces. October 31st, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin We will be continuing with Academic Recovery this week. Class is from 7:45am-8:15am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If your child has any incompletes in their classes they should be attending ARA in order to complete missed classwork/assignments. Happy Halloween! Halloween is on Monday, October 31 st . Students are allowed to wear costumes, however, masks and accessories/props that resemble weapons are not allowed. Senior Picture Day is this Thursday on November 3 rd ! We ask that your child wears a black top for uniformity and please make sure their top has sleeves, no shoulders showing or tank tops. For boys, please wear a black button-down shirt and tie. This week on Tuesday, November 1 st , we will be having a UCSD representative visit our campus to inform seniors about the UC application process as they begin to apply for colleges. They will be meeting after school at 3:30pm. ASB is holding a costume contest Monday, October 31 st , at lunch in the Cafeteria! Prices will be awarded to the top 3 costumes as voted on by our Costume Judges! Attendance matters! The quarter ends this week on Friday, October 28 th , so we want to make sure that students are doing their best and completing missed classwork/assignments. This week on Thursday, October 27 th , we will be having an SDSU representative visit our campus to inform seniors about the CSU application process as they begin to apply for colleges. They will be meeting after school at 3:30pm. There will also be a Parent Committee meeting on Tuesday, October 25 th , through Zoom from 4:30-5:30pm. October 17th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin We will be continuing with Academic Recovery this week. Class is from 7:45am-8:15am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The quarter ends in two weeks on October 28 th, so we want to make sure that students are doing their best and completing missed classwork/assignments. Picture Day is coming up this week for grades 9-11 on Tuesday October 18 th . Students will be taking pictures in their history class on that day. In a couple of weeks, we will be having an SDSU representative for Cal State visit our campus on October 27 th at 3:30pm. They will be speaking to our seniors about the application process and other necessary steps to apply for college. We also have some Varsity and JV Volleyball games scheduled for this week: Varsity Girls Volleyball: 10/17 vs El Cajon Valley @ ECV @ 6:30 PM 10/18 vs Cristo Rey @ Cristo Rey @ 4:30 pm 10/20 vs Preuss @ Park De La Cruz @ 4:15 JV Girls Volleyball: 10/17 vs El Cajon Valley @ ECV @ 5:00 PM 10/20 vs High Tech High North Country @ Park de la cruz @ 3:15 pm Flag Football also has a game on Saturday, October 22nd at Bayfront Charter at 9 am vs Cristo Rey.

October 10th, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin There will be an ASB fundraiser this Tuesday, October 11th during our lunch time from 11:25am- 12:15pm. Cheese and Pepperoni pizza slices will be sold for $2 a slice and we will be accepting cash or check! We will be continuing with Academic Recovery this week. Class is from 7:45am-8:15am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Please contact Ms. Joanna Smith if you have any questions. Get ready for Picture Day! Picture Day for grades 9-11 is on Tuesday October 18th . Students will be taking pictures in their history class on that day. October 3rd, 2022- Weekly School Bulletin This week at HSHMC we will be having a short day on Friday, October 7th.  School will be dismissed at 12:30pm.  This does not affect students who have their hospital internships on Friday.  They will still be at the hospital for the entire school day and will be getting out of school at 3:00pm. There will also be an Admissions Counselor representative from San Diego State University coming to campus on Friday, October 7th. They will be here from 1-2pm in room 303 for students to learn more about the admissions process to SDSU.
